Surveys:

  • Well conducted surveys can provide good information on the vessel condition, but are not guarantees. The survey reports the condition in accessible areas only, as it existed at the time of inspection.
  • Most insurance companies and banks will require a complete survey and detailed report to determine the condition and value of the vessel.
  • Knowing condition and fair market value before you purchase is also important. When purchasing a vessel the purchaser is requested to accompany the surveyor to obtain comprehensive insight and knowledge of the vessel.
  • The most important reason to survey your vessel is for the safety of the passengers and crew.

Reports:

  • The final product is the survey report. It should reflect the surveyor's activities aboard the vessel and the description and condition of those items which were examined. It should contain a list of deficiencies found and recommendations concerning those problems.
  • Survey reports include five comprehensive sections; Introduction, General Information, Systems, Findings and Recommendations, and Summary and Valuation in a professional, organized format prepared with Force 5 Marine Survey Report Software.
